CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A virtual open house will be covering a variety of environmental issues in the Charlottesville community.

Resilient Together will be hosting the conversation with a group of subject matter experts on Nov. 16.

According to a release, the open houses will start off with a general presentation about the state of the Charlottesville area, including the vulnerabilities it faces and how this effort is looking to help.

There will then be topic-focused breakout rooms in which people can learn more about and discuss heat and air quality, drought and flooding, changing seasonal patterns, and pests.

Resilient Together is working to identify opportunities and design strategies to build environmental resilience in the area.

This includes being prepared in case of an emergency, having emergency response plans in place, and recovery efforts.
