LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A special ceremony was held in Louisa County on Friday morning as Congressman Bob Good paid tribute to the brave veterans who served in the Vietnam War.

During the ceremony, Good took the time to thank each veteran for their service and sacrifice and presented them with a Vietnam Veteran lapel pin as a token of gratitude. Each part of the pin symbolizes a distinct aspect of the United States or a form of gratitude towards the veterans.

"There is no greater privilege as a member of Congress that I have than it is to honor our military and honor our veterans. We are only the greatest country in the history of the world because of those who fought for it to establish it to protect our freedoms and I always feel inadequate to effectively express the appreciation of a grateful nation to them, but it's important for us to continue to do that," Good said.

A message on the back of the pin reads, "A Grateful Nation Thanks and Honors You." It is on the side closest to the heart of the individual who wears it. The official name of the commemoration is also inscribed on the back to remind each veteran that it is a national initiative.
