Nearly 200 people participate in 2nd Annual Ruck the Ridge
DYKE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Nearly 200 people came out Saturday for the second annual Ruck The Ridge event at the Blue Ridge School.
In honor of Veterans Day Living Free Together hosted the ruck for families to gather and celebrate service as well as complete a challenging course. The nonprofit works to support local military families in multiple ways throughout the year, to take a little of the weight off their shoulders.
“Military life is not easy. And it’s not just relative to the soldier itself, but it impacts the family so much,” Benny Clark from Living Free said.
The 177 ruck participants were faced with an army crawl, balance beam, and other obstacles on a four, six, or eight mile course. To learn more about Living Free Together, you can visit https://www.livingfree2gether.org/
