Leaders from Charlottesville's friendship city visit
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Sister Cities Commission hosted representatives from Huehuetenango, Guatemala, a friendship city.
Charlottesville is in the process of becoming sister cities with the Latin American community.
At the Omni Hotel on Tuesday, the city of Huehuetenango had the opportunity to share its coffee with people in Charlottesville.
“In Guatemala, we have a lot of people who love to do these things, who create these things and when we drink the coffee, we like to think about the ones who made the coffee as well. What we believe is that the people of Charlottesville want to know the people of Guatemala,” said Gustavo Cano, the Mayor of Huehuetenango, Guatemala.
On Nov. 15, Charlottesville Mayor Lloyd Snook will meet with Cano at City Space.
