CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- An Albemarle County man is facing firearms charges in Charlottesville.

On Wednesday, the Charlottesville Police Department and the Virginia State Police 3A Task Force were alerted about an armed person walking on the 800 block of Hardy Drive.

According to police, the person was armed with an AR-15-style rifle and a handgun.

When officers made contact with the person near the Westhaven playground, the person was holding a firearm in their hand.

As a result, 18-year-old Nyeem Rysuan Hill was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm while there is a protective order against him.
