CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- JMRL’s Gordon Avenue Library will begin new drive-up services on Monday for checkout of library materials on hold.

A new pickup window has been installed alongside the existing drive-up book return, with the driveway entrance on Ackley Lane. Patrons can check out books, audiobooks, DVDs and more by selecting “Gordon Ave” as the pickup location.

“We expect this new pickup window to be very popular with our patrons who are in a hurry,” said Gordon Avenue Library Branch Manager Camille Thompson. “But it will also make using the library easier for those with limited mobility and parents with children who prefer to stay in their vehicles.”

Drive-up service hours will be 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays (bell service only) and noon to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

“JMRL is pleased to offer this expanded service to library patrons,” said Library Director David Plunkett. “The Library is thankful for the support of the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County that made this new enhanced library service possible.”
