CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The annual Barracks Road Holiday Parade took place Saturday morning with hundreds of people lining the sidewalks of the shopping center.

The festive lineup included musical and dance performances, fire trucks, and even Santa Claus himself. The community braved the brisk morning to come together and cheer on the parade participants. One family says they are grateful to have such a tight-knit place to live.

“It's a community and this shows that we are a community, and we can do great things together,” Jason Belford said.

The parade started by Harris Teeter and traveled through the shopping center toward Kroger, allowing people to get a front-row view of the show.
