People camp out overnight for new juice bar grand opening
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The new juice bar, Clean Juice Charlottesville, located at the Shops at Stonefield offers a range of smoothies, juices, and food items fueled by the franchise’s mission to use all natural ingredients.
Owners Hailey and Alex Morgan decided to bring Clean Juice to Charlottesville after Hailey’s battle with ulcerative colitis. After trying medications and other treatments Hailey found changing her diet to organic foods provided her with the most relief.
"We never dreamed of owning a business but our story and what we have learned along the way led us here,” Hailey Morgan said.
The first 50 customers at their grand opening Saturday won free smoothies for a year, and some stayed up all night, waiting for their doors to open.
“We got here around 9 p.m. last night. We just decided it would be something fun, we have never camped out in our car, and we wanted to try it and here we are, Amy Moore said.
“Well, it's kind of a mix, you guys got here at like three and we rolled up around 3:30 a.m.,” Campers said.
“I have been out here since 3:50am, I got rescued by some awesome friends of mine, I was here by myself and made some good community,” JP Sealy said.
Next door, the fitness studio, Pure Barre also opened this weekend and celebrated with free classes. Studio Instructor Jamie Via says she's looking forward to the partnership with Clean Juice.
“We think our clients and their clients are the same type of people. People who love being healthy and wellness and I just think it's going to be such a fun collaboration,” Via said.
Both new businesses will be holding specials throughout the weekend.
