ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Albemarle County is hosting a meeting Thursday evening regarding a plan to build a new greenway over by the Foxcroft neighborhood along the Biscuit Run stream.

The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. at Monticello High School.

The greenway would be a trail that would be able to connect the future Biscuit Run State Park to the surrounding neighborhoods and could extend to Fifth Street Station.

“We feel like it is really important for the quality of life for our community. It's important for public health and personal wellness. It is going to help support equitable access to economic opportunity and really make the southern development area much more enjoyable for everyone,” said Chief of Parks Planning Tim Padalino.

The county says they plan to continue to hear feedback from neighbors to align their plans with what the people want.
