CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Salvation Army of Charlottesville is looking to help families in need get hygiene products.

It is launching a Free Hygiene Closet on March 1.

While people can donate any hygiene products to the closet, the Salvation Army is specifically asking for family-size items.

Some of the products the Salvation Army is looking for include shampoo, toothbrushes, baby diapers, dish detergent, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, toilet tissue, shaving cream, hand sanitizer, shaving razors, toothpaste, deodorant, laundry soap, hand soap and feminine hygiene products.

Donated items need to be new and unopened.

The Free Hygiene Closet will be located at the shelter on Ridge Street.

Families in need can call (434) 295-4058 to make an appointment with the caseworker.
