CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- For the 14th year, two area sandwich shops are raising money to help local nonprofits.

It’s the annual Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving, which culminates this Wednesday with the Day of Giving.

For the month of March, Jersey Mike’s Subs locations across the country are participating in the fundraising campaign, including two in the Charlottesville area.

For the Day of Giving on March 27, every single dollar that comes into a Jersey Mike’s location will go to local charities.

The Charlottesville area stores are supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Virginia and Project Horizon, but more than 200 charities across the country will benefit from the campaign.

This year, the more than 450 sandwich shops are looking to break last year’s record-breaking national fundraising total of $21 million.

Since it was created, the Month of Giving has raised more than $88 million to support nonprofits like Special Olympics, children’s hospitals, humane society organizations and more.
