ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Senior Statesmen of Virginia will be hosting a recap of the recent General Assembly session at its next meeting.

Three area lawmakers are expected to attend and talk about what occurred earlier this year in Richmond and ongoing budget work.

State Senator Creigh Deeds and Delegates Katrina Callsen and Amy Laufer will talk about bills that passed and failed during the session, budget obstacles, prospects for a government shutdown and more.

This event is free to attend and open to the public.

It will be held at 1:30 p.m. May 8 at Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge’s Rotunda Room.
