CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Albemarle County Service Authority has appointed Quin Lunsford as its newest executive director as of July 1.

"We believe that Mr. Lunsford has the skills, institutional knowledge and expertise needed to continue to guide ACSA to be an industry-leading utility," said Richard Armstrong, chairman of the ACSA board of directors.

Lunsford has served as ACSA's director of finance for the past 10 years.

"I am proud to be part of an organization that provides exceptional service to our community but is also a great place to work," said Lunsford.

He moves into the executive director position in the wake of the retirement of Gary O'Connell, who has served ACSA since 2010.

ACSA provides water and wastewater services to more than 21,400 customers in a service area that includes the urban areas of Albemarle County and nearby communities of Scottsville, Red Hill and Crozet.
