BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia State Police reports four people were killed in a Buckingham County crash on Tuesday.

According to police, the crash occurred around 11:40 a.m. on South James Madison Highway near the intersection with Hughes Road.

A southbound 2012 Ford Fusion on James Madison Highway crossed the centerline and hit a northbound 2022 Ford T350.

The Fusion then continued heading south in the northbound lane and hit a 2021 Nissan Versa head-on.

The crash caused the Nissan to run off the side of the road and overturn.

In the Fusion, the driver, identified as 77-year-old Erika M. Henshaw of Dillwyn, and a passenger, identified as 85-year-old Alvin P. Henshaw, died at the scene.

Additionally, the driver of the Nissan, identified as 66-year-old Runping Z. Rhett of Alton, and a passenger, identified as 37-year-old Eric D. Truscott, died at the scene of the crash.

All four victims were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the T350 was not hurt.

The crash is still under investigation.
