AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A Staunton man who attempted to drive away from Augusta County Sheriff's Office deputies who were trying to stop him on Friday morning ended up flipping his truck and being taken to Augusta Health for treatment.

Michael David Keys Sr., 48, has been charged with felony eluding, DUI, driving on a suspended license and misdemeanor destruction of property. Arrest warrants are currently pending his release.

"As dangerous as this incident was to the community, the deputies were able to contain Keys to the adjacent properties within the immediate area and were able to take Keys into custody," said Augusta County Sheriff Donald Smith.

The incident occurred in the 200 block of Balsley Road.
