ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The new academic year is just around the corner, which means people will soon be needing school supplies.

In Orange County, the Office on Youth has begun to collect supplies for its annual School Supply Distribution.

Donated supplies will be distributed to students who attend Orange County Public Schools according to the requested supply list for a student’s school and grade.

The office has also teamed up with several area businesses that are hosting donation bins until July 25.

Donations bins are located at:

  • Blue Ridge Bank on North Madison Road in Orange
  • Dollar General on Constitution Highway in Unionville
  • Dollar General on Constitution Highway in Locust Grove
  • Dollar General on Goodwin Drive in Locust Grove
  • Dollar General on North Madison Road in Orange
  • Family Dollar on North Madison Road in Orange
  • Gordon Building on West Main Street in Orange
  • Gordonsville Library on North Main Street in Gordonsville
  • The Licata Group on Goodwin Drive in Locust Grove
  • Main Library on North Madison Road in Orange
  • Mama’s Pizza on Constitution Highway in Locust Grove
  • Orange County Parks and Recreation Office on Porter Road in Orange
  • Sedwick Building on North Madison Road in Orange
  • Wilderness Library on Flat Run Road in Locust Grove

  • Pencils (12 count)
  • Pencil boxes (5 x 8”)
  • Pencil sharpeners
  • Pens (black, blue, and red)
  • Scissors
  • Two-pocket folders (with and without prongs)

Supplies will be distributed beginning July 30 at the Office on Youth. They will be first-come, first-served and supplies may be limited.

In order to be eligible, students must be enrolled in OCPS and be an Orange County resident and parents/guardians will need to show proof of receiving public assistance such as Medicaid, TANF, WIC or SNAP.
