LEXINGTON, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, is officially back open after a multiple hour lockdown due to a bomb threat received by campus officials. 

The university first posted on social media about the bomb threat at 8:41 a.m. and the campus was immediately shut down. 

Hours later at 3:31 p.m. the campus notified the public that the threat was resolved by law enforcement and there was no active threat to campus safety.
