CULPEPER, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Drivers heading home on Thursday evening may face slick roads in some areas due to light snow.
The Virginia Department of Transportation says a winter storm is moving through the Central Virginia area, and though it is not forecast to leave much snow, cold temperatures and the storm's timing could impact travel.
A dusting of snow is possible across must of the Piedmont, with great accumulations possible along the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing overnight, which may cause slick roads Friday morning where road surfaces have refrozen.
VDOT is also looking ahead to the weekend when more winter weather may impact the region beginning Saturday afternoon.
Road conditions will likely be impacted due to frigid temperatures Sunday and Monday.
