GREENE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Greene County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that has killed one person.

According to a post on the sheriff's office's Facebook page, deputies responded to a call about a car in park with the engine running on Dundee Road shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived, they found a black man in the car who was not breathing.

Officials determined the man had been shot, apparently by another person.

The man, who has been identified as 37-year-old Brian Dudley of Stanardsville, was dead.

The sheriff's office says this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.

However, officials do believe the victim knew his attacker. No suspect is in custody.
