UPDATE: Aug. 12 assault suspect extradited to Charlottesville

The Charlottesville Police Department said Tyler Davis was extradited to Charlottesville on Friday.

He is facing a malicious wounding charge for the brutal beating of Deandre Harris in the Market Street parking garage on Aug. 12.

Davis is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

The Charlottesville Police Department says a Florida man has been arrested in connection with an assault that occurred in the city on Aug. 12.

According to a release, 49-year-old Tyler Watkins Davis of Middleburg, Florida is charged with malicious wounding.

Police say the charge stems from the assault on Deandre Harris in the Market Street parking garage after the Unite the Right rally.

Harris himself and several other men are also facing charges for the incident.

Davis was arrested Wednesday by the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

He is being held at the Clay County Jail while awaiting extradition to Charlottesville.
