Blue Ridge sends four to Inaugural NCAA Academy

ST. GEORGE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Blue Ridge will be well-represented at the inaugural NCAA College Basketball Academy with four players taking part this week.

The NCAA College Basketball Academy starts on Monday, July 22nd with four regional sites in Phoenix, Houston, Illinois and Connecticut.

The Barons' Michael Gray, William Lee, Houston Emory and Sasha Glushkov will all head to Storrs, Connecticut for the east coast regional.

The week long academy is the latest opportunity designed by the NCAA to give student-athletes a chance to impress college coaches during the summer outside of the normal AAU circuit. The academy will host 2,400 players from across the country in the 2020, 2021 and 2022 classes broken up into two sessions at each site.

The academy follows live shootouts hosted by schools across the country in June, such as the one hosted at Blue Ridge.
