CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Virginia men's basketball got a big addition to the roster on Tuesday as Marquette transfer Sam Hauser announced his commitment to the defending national champions.
Hauser will likely sit out next season due to NCAA transfer rules, which would make him eligible for the 2020-21 season.
The second-team All-Big East forward announced his decision on Twitter, thanking Coach Bennett for the opportunity.
The junior averaged 14.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 40.2 percent from three. Hauser helped the Golden Eagles to a 24-10 record and an NCAA Torunament berth.
Sam was originally looking to transfer with his younger brother Joey Hauser, who announced his commitment to Michigan State on Tuesday.
