CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Tied at halftime, Virginia started the third quarter on a 16-2 run and held on to beat Charlotte 65-61 in the final non-conference game for the Wahoos.
Lisa Jablonowski scored a career-high 17 points, including four free throws in the final 34 seconds, in the Cavaliers win. The junior from Luxembourg was one of three Wahoos in double figures. Bri Tinsley scored seven of her 12 points in the first half, while Dominique Toussaint scored all 11 of her points after halftime.
The Cavaliers (6-7) were playing their first game at John Paul Jones arena since a December 8 loss to Radford.
Tied 25-25 at halftime, Jocelyn Willoughby hit a three-pointer from the corner 10 seconds into the second half to give the Cavaliers a lead they would never give up. Tinsley scored five points in the run.
The 49ers got as close as four with 3:58 to play, but Virginia held on thanks to late foul shooting to pick up its second straight win.
Virginia opens ACC play at home against Florida State on Thursday.
