ORANGE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- The dream Orange County's Chris Washington has waited for ever since he put on pads as kid finally arrived Wednesday as he signed to play football for Division II Alderson Broaddus.
"Ever since I was a little kid, ever since I started playing football," Washington said, "Always had a dream to play at the next level."
As a senior, Washington was selected to the first-team All-Jefferson District as a wide receiver and kick returner. The Fighting Hornets' playmaker had previously been selected second-team All-Jefferson District as both a receiver and kick/punt returner. Next season Washington will be asked to play slot back, but he believes Orange County has prepared him well.
"They've done everything for me from coaching staff to my teammates, friends, family just brought me a good atmosphere," Washington said, "Always telling me I can do good things and it came true."
