STAB's Barger named a lacrosse All-American

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- St. Anne's-Belfield School will have a second lacrosse player at next month's Under Armour All-American Game in Baltimore.

Senior Emmett Barger was named an Under Armour All-American on Wednesday. The Notre Dame-bound midfielder will join STAB teammate Connor Shellenberger at Homewood Field in Baltimore on June 29 for the Under Armour All-American Game.

It's the latest honor for Barger, who was also invited this week to this summer's tryouts for the USA Lacrosse U19 team. Barger, who signed with Notre Dame last fall, played a key role on the STAB boys lacrosse team that reached last week's semifinals of the VISAA Division I state tournament.

Barger was also recognized as CBS19's Student Athlete of the Week last Thursday.
