CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 Sports) -- The Tom Sox hosted the Harrisoburg Turks tonight, looking to continue some hit streaks.

Thomas Fransisco came into tonight’s game with a 19-game hit streak. During his first at-bat in the bottom of the 1st inning, Fransisco dropped a single into right field, extending his hit streak to 20. Cayman Richardson’s hit tonight brings his current streak to 11 games straight.

The Tom Sox introduced Jasper Carmichael, pitching the first five innings. He struck out five batters and only allowed one hit during this outing.

The Turks would get on the board in the top of the 8th, RJ Schrek hitting a home run to deep center. They would enter the bottom of the 8th down 2-1.

Each team would tack on another run, for a final score of 3-2.

The Tom Sox are on the road on Saturday in Covington and return home on Sunday to host the Front Royal Cardinals, one of their last two home games of the regular season.
