LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Two people were killed in a crash that occurred on Interstate 64 in Louisa County on Tuesday night.

The Virginia State Police reports the crash involved a dump truck and an SUV near mile marker 133 in the eastbound lanes of the interstate.

Police say the crash occurred just before 11 p.m. when a Honda SUV that has heading eat hit the back of a GMC dump truck.

There were two adults in the SUV who both died at the scene. According to police, they were wearing seat belts.

The names of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of their families.

The dump truck driver, a 57-year-old man from Fluvanna County, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
