CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Democratic candidate for the Fifth Congressional District seat is challenging his opponent, the incumbent Republican, to an in-person debate.

Josh Throneburg issued the challenge Wednesday.

In a campaign video, he directly addressed Congressman Bob Good, saying at least three organizations have offered to host debates.

Throneburg has accepted all of the invitations, but he says Good has not.

"But you have either rejected or ignored those invitations and so I want to make things crystal clear. I, Josh Throneburg, challenge you, Representative Bob Good to an in-person debate sometime between now and Nov. 8," Throneburg said in the video.

Good is running for a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He defeated Democrat Cameron Webb in the 2020 election following his victory over former-Congressman Denver Riggleman in a Republican Convention earlier that year.

Good's campaign has not yet responded to Throneburg's invitation and has not responded to a request for comment.
