Local man running electric bike lending library
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- If you've ever thought about getting an electric bike, but you're not sure where to start, Josh Carp has you covered.
He is running Charlottesville's first and only e-bike library.
"Anybody in town or the area can come by and borrow one of these or some other e-bikes and try them out for a couple days or a week and see what e-bike is going to work for their lifestyle," Carp said.
Carp said people mostly will buy their bike online, but they might not know what's right for their needs or even what size to get.
An e-bike can cost over one thousand dollars, so he said it's good to know you aren't making a mistake.
"It's like riding a bike, but you feel like you're an amazing cyclist even if you are, like me, not actually an amazing cyclist," he said.
Carp has five e-bikes. Some are light and geared towards commuting, and some are heavy and good for carrying groceries or even a child.
"It's really fun to feel like you can bike up any hill in Charlottesville, it's more fun than being stuck in traffic," Carp said.
He said once you come over, he'll help you figure out what you're looking for, and then it's all yours for a week.
