ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- No. 21 Virginia jumped to an early lead and never looked back to take game one at Georgia Tech 12-5.

Kyle Teel gave the Cavaliers the perfect start with a three-run homer in the first inning, becoming the third UVA player with ten or more home runs with his tenth of the season. Casey Saucke helped extend the lead in the third inning with a bases clearing double to double the Virginia lead to 6-0. After Georgia Tech sliced the lead in half, Ethan O'Donnell answered with a two run homer over the left field wall, his 11th of the season.

O'Donnell and Saucke led the way with three hits each, while Teel finished with four RBI to match a season-high.

Starter Nick Parker moved to 6-0 on the season after pitching 5.0 innings and allowing three earned runs.

Virginia will look to clinch the series on Friday, May 19 with game two slated for 6 p.m.
