CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia Department of Corrections is now looking for a person wanted in connection with lockdowns at three Charlottesville schools earlier this month.

According to a tweet, the VADOC says 22-year-old Dionte Tremaine Ruffin is now also wanted for violating his supervised probation.

Ruffin is a Black man who is 5-foot-8 and weighs 165 pounds.

He’s wanted by the Charlottesville Police Department for a threat of violence that was made against a specific student at Buford Middle School on May 9.

Buford was placed on lockdown in order to make sure all of its students were safe.

Officials later put Charlottesville High and Greenbrier Elementary schools on modified lockdowns as well due to connections between the suspect and the mother of the Buford student who had other children attending those schools.

Law enforcement officials say Ruffin should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call (877) 896-5764.
