FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission will be holding a joint work session next week.

The meeting will be held at the Carysbrook Performing Arts Center in Fork Union at 5 p.m. Oct. 18.

County officials say this work session will be focused on a solar projects informational discussion.

While no actions are expected to occur during this work session, it will be an opportunity to learn more about how solar projects may move forward in Fluvanna County and across Virginia.

Lane Gunn, the chairman of the South Central Virginia Business Alliance and project manager with Red Oak Excavating, will be speaking during the session.

There will not be a discussion regarding any specific projects at this time.

However, during the regular meeting of the county Board of Supervisors later that evening, there will be a public hearing about amending the county code to authorize a revenue share amount per megawatt of solar energy produced and energy storage systems.

The work session and the regular meeting are open to the public.
