FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 News) -- Fork Union Military Academy celebrated its 125th anniversary this past weekend.

Students gathered on the football field for a parade on Sunday.

During the parade, Captain Mark Black took command from the school's current president, Colonel David Coggins, who announced his intent to retire last spring.

"In the 125-year history, this is the first year they have ever done that. It was kind of a hybrid situation in which we had a passing review, but embedded within that parade was a change of command in terms of leadership between the 11th president and the 12th," said Black.

Black will officially assume his role as FUMA's president on Monday.
