Dear CHS staff, families, and students:

I am writing to let you know that today Mr. Rashaad Pitt submitted his resignation as principal of CHS in order to focus on his family and health. His last day will be the Tuesday before  Thanksgiving Break, November 21.

Mr. Pitt is currently meeting with CHS staff to announce his departure. We wish him all the best and sincerely thank him for his many contributions to the Black Knight Nation since his arrival last August.

I will be working with the division Executive Leadership Team to quickly name an acting principal. Throughout the process, division leadership will continue to support the CHS Admin Team and staff.

We will also begin our search for the new CHS principal immediately.

Stay tuned for a CHS community survey about your priorities and hopes for the new principal. There will also be an opportunity to express your interest in being part of the interview committee.

Thank you for your continued support of CHS and Charlottesville City Schools.
