CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Children receiving treatment at the University of Virginia Children's Hospital will have a better Christmas because of a donation made from Brady Strong.

It’s a local organization that donated hundreds of toys to help families as the holidays approach.

The family of Brady Strong knows all too well what it’s like to have a child in the hospital since the passing of Brady years ago. Now they work to help other families enjoy their holiday while taking care of their child.

“Some of our patient families can be here for months, weeks on end. Not only is it like a time thing, but also just the amount of effort it takes to think about gifts and shop. It takes that away so that they can spend time with their children,” said Amy Cesak, manager of patient and family center care at UVA Health.

These gifts will be distributed on Thursday to families at UVA’s “Seasons Treatings” event where parents can pick out toys for all children in their household.
