NELSON COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Nelson County residents can now access materials from the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library 24 hours a day.

On Wednesday, officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new library kiosk that has been installed at the Valley Green Shopping Center in Nellysford.

The kiosk is stocked with a collection of “high-interest” books, allowing people to browse hundreds of titles and instantly borrow them with their JMRL card.

People can also return library materials at the kiosk

“JMRL is thrilled to bring Nelson County residents greater access to library materials through this innovative kiosk,” said JMRL Director David Plunkett. “As always, the Library is thankful for Nelson County’s ongoing support of enhanced library services to meet community needs. In addition, thanks go out to Grow Nelson Library for raising the funds to purchase this device, and to Sarah Holman from Nelson Cable, Inc. for hosting the kiosk and providing network support.”

JMRL says Nelson Memorial Library staff will regularly restock the kiosk and collect any returned materials.
