PORTSMOUTH, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A Critically Missing Adult Alert has been issued for a man from Portsmouth.

According to the Virginia State Police, 68-year-old Wendell Ross Richardson was last seen March 23 on the 1500 block of Crystal Lake Drive.

He is described as a Black man who is 6-foot-1 and weighs 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and is bald.

Richardson may be wearing a purple sweatsuit and is presumed to be on foot.

Police say his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.
