ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Albemarle County Police Department is investigating an embezzlement case involving a Keswick-based company.

According to a release, Tommy Dewayne Dobson and Anne Christine Dobson, the owners of Dobson Homes, Incorporated, are facing six counts each of felony embezzlement for defrauding customers in Albemarle County.

The police department is looking for more people who may been victims of this company as part of its ongoing investigation.

The release says ACPD has already heard from some victims who say the company and the Dobsons embezzled money from construction loans and collected payment before abandoning job sites for weeks or never providing services at all.

All of the victims in the county are over the age of 62 and ACPD believes they were targeted due to their vulnerability.

The Dobsons are accused of embezzling more than $1.4 million between October 2020 and December 2022.

Tommy and Anne Dobson were booked into the Central Virginia Regional Jail and released on bond.

Residents who used this company and did not receive services are asked to contact Detective Baggett at (434) 296-5807.
