ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Eighty new high-paying jobs are coming to Orange County.

Aerojet Rocketdyne, which is a part of global company L3Harris, tests and produces modern rockets.

They've made a 41-million-dollar investment. Orange County Administrator Ted Voorhees said it’s to expand Department of Defense work in anti-tank munitions.

He said this is a huge push in economic development for Orange.

“They are one of our bigger taxpayers and we certainly appreciate that they contribute to all the services we provide and particularly schools and public safety. The other aspect of that is the job so these will be many, many jobs above the typical wage in our area,” he said.

Some of the jobs will be technical and some will be support jobs. The construction and hiring will happen over the next three years.
