SYRACUSE, N.Y. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- A four-goal scoring run in the fourth quarter helped No. 7 Syracuse take down the Cavaliers 18-17 Saturday afternoon. Sam English scored the game-winning goal with 48 seconds remaining to hand the Hoos their second straight loss of the season. 

Connor Shellenberger recorded a game-high nine points with four goals and five assists. His nine points are his career best in an ACC matchup. Payton Cormier finished with four goals and an assist and McCabe Millon recorded three goals and two assists. 

Defensively, John Schroter held his matchup Joey Spallina point-less for the first time of his career. Matt Nunes recorded 15 saves, including eight in the third quarter. 

Virginia conclude the regular season next Saturday when they host No. 1 Notre Dame in a rematch of last year's NCAA semifinals. First draw is set for 2 p.m.
