ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Albemarle County Department of Fire Rescue says two people have been displaced by a Monday night fire.

According to ACFR, the fire occurred around 9:05 p.m. on the 3000 block of Rolling Road.

When the first crews arrived about 15 minutes later, they found heavy smoke and fire conditions.

Two people were home at the time but they were able to get out safely. One person was medically evaluated at the scene.

Officials report a pet cat is missing.

The home is considered a total loss, and the residents are being assisted by family members and the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
