CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Three teams from St. Anne's-Belfield School will advance to the 2024 World KidWind Challenge, a renewable energy design competition, from May 5-8 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The AvengHERS, Honey Badgers and Three Hens will take part in the World Wind Turbine Challenge. They will be required to run the small-scale wind turbines that they have designed through a group of wind tunnels, each with their own distinct characteristics.

"I couldn't be prouder of the three teams who have made it to the World Challenge," said Robert Munsey, K-8 computer science coordinator at St. Anne's-Belfield. "It's a testament to their hard work, dedication and creativity. I have no doubt that they will represent our school and community with excellence at the competition."

This is the second year that St. Anne's-Belfield is competing in KidWind after their last team won the 2023 World Challenge.
