GREENE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- An Orange County man who murdered his girlfriend while their young child watched has been sentenced.

An Albemarle County judge sentenced Dominic Gaskins to 38 years in prison.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to first degree murder, child endangerment and a gun charge back in February.

He shot and killed his ex-girlfriend Sabrina Jenkins in her car on Stony Point Road in December of 2022.

The 38 years was the maximum sentence recommended in his plea deal.
