CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The pools at the Smith Aquatic and Fitness Center are temporarily closed.

The Charlottesville Department of Parks and Recreation says this is due to broken glass being found in the lap and recreational pools.

Per safety protocols, the pools are being drained and cleaned.

The facility is expected to reopen on April 26.

At this time, people are advised to use the Crow Pool for swimming activities and the Carver Recreation Center for fitness. All aquatic programs have been relocated to Crow.
